I’m Mat Pheiffer, better known as DJ Mat, a seasoned DJ with a passion for creating unforgettable moments through music. Born and raised in East London (‘Slummies’), my journey into music started early—my father owned a high-end audio repair company, which fueled my love for sound and technology. I attended a technical high school, majored in Electronics, and started DJ’ing during my teenage years. By 2004, I was playing private events and bar gigs, captivating audiences with seamless mixes and infectious energy..

My career took off when I became a resident DJ at Numbers Dance Club (2005-2014), where I perfected my ability to read a crowd and keep the dance floor alive. I was privileged to work alongside celebrity radio DJs and industry veterans during Decades, a monthly event celebrating music through the ages. Since 2023, I’ve been the go-to DJ for weddings and special events in Cape Town, collaborating with incredible professionals to make every celebration one to remember.
